Politics for the next few months is likely to resemble a circus than a nation trying to solve it's problems.
The Republican field of Presidential aspirants will be shaking out and those falling behind will become more shrill and crazy hoping to say or do something to get the attention of the Republican base.
And who knows what Obama will be doing. If the past is any predictor he will thrash around hoping he can light a fire under his base in time for the 2012 election, and my gut feeling is that it's too late for that. However, if it looks like a true loon like Rick Perry or Michelle Bachmann is going to get the nod to oppose him, we will see more lefties get involved despite our disgust at his Republican-lite policies. No one wants more corporatists on the Supreme Court.
I don't watch any of Obama's speeches anymore. He is not a leader. He reacts. He has no vision, no long term plan for America and even if he did he wouldn't fright for it. All he does is try to keep the Republicans from pulling us over the cliff of ruin. There is nothing inspiring about him.
Our country is on the verge of economic disaster. This is one of those times when America needs a strong, visionary leader. Obama is not that leader, and it's sadly obvious that the 2012 election will not produce one either. Our best hope is that the Dems take back the House and Nancy Pelosi becomes Speaker again. She's probably the most able leader in Washington right now.

Keep this under your turban
The Republican leadership has convinced itself that the rich need more money, and that giving it to them is the purpose of government.
If there are 10 clowns in the ring, and Obama jumps in saying, "They're "clowns!" what does that make Obama?
The rich people I know aren't nearly as silly as the self-appointed ego-maniac 'Pick me, pick me!' Republicans running for President.
Obama only has to run against The Last Clown Standing®.

"The Republican leadership has convinced itself that the rich need more money,..."
Or maybe the rich have "convinced" them they need more money (with campaign contributions)? I don't know what Republicans believe anymore, other than Obama hates America and is trying to destroy it.
