Kathleen Parker writes about how Newt Gingrich was able to turn the interview with his second wife around and make himself the victim.
A Catholic friend captures the operative sentiment in terms Gingrich surely would appreciate. When she sees someone succumb to temptation or betray some other human frailty, she says: “I have those weeds in my garden.”
Forget the weeds, this man was cheating on his wife at the same time he was angrily demonizing liberals for our supposed moral failures. He and his Republican party have seized power by demonizing the opposition for moral failures that they were engaged in themselves.
I have nothing but contempt for these Republicans, not because they are human and make human mistakes, but because they parade around clothed in their cloak of righteousness while underneath they are often more degraded than the people they are pointing their accusatory fingers at.

Newt! Admired? Desired? Loved? Feared?
Who would change places with Newt? Who would want to? Why? Because He sinned? Because He Asked for Forgiveness? Because He asks US? Because He's a Morally Superior Human Being?
Will Newt-as-President recruit Newt-clones for his cabinet? for his judicial appointments? for his staff? Where will he find them?
There aren't many things cuter than a baby elephant.
SC voters overlooked the obvious consequence of "Newtiness," We have to live with him if he's elected.

We have to live with him if he's elected.
I've already had friends tell me if Newt is elected they will move to Canada or Europe. A Newt Presidency would be a tragedy best viewed from abroad.

Well, Horsec, just look who Conservative voters have had to live with the last three years thanks to unable-to-think-for-yourselves, Liberal folks such as you.
We have had enough! My 6 month old *kitten* could run this country better than Obama.
Is time for you to stand back and let the adults take over!

Ted: Well, not really 50 years. It wasn't until about 10 years ago (about the time Bush lied us into invading Iraq) that many of us began thinking that maybe America was was in real danger of the inmates were taking over the asylum.
Dagny: And just what terrible things have happened to you in the past three years? How could it be worse than a President who LIED us into an expensive useless war, that he refused to pay for. Not only that but he allowed America to shame ourselves before the world by torturing people in our custody!
The right wants to turn America back to the America of the 1870s. It sucked for the non-wealthy then and it will suck even worse now.

Trakker ...
Comment was directed toward Horsec, not you.
How about letting *him* get back to me, huh?
Or do you speak for all your lackeys in here?

Dagny...since it's my blog I figure I can weigh in on any comment left here. If horsec figures it's worth his time to reply I'm sure he will.

You must be near 21 if you think the threats are only 10 years old. They were bandied about quite freely when Ronnie was running- especially from hollyweird.
Excellent comments Dagny and right on the mark.
