My, my, my, those good, law abiding, gun owners who insist they must be allowed to carry loaded firearms on our streets just continue to show why they shouldn't even be allowed to touch a firearm, much less put our kids at risk of being shot.
First we have a father who shoots his wife and then himself at their daughter's 16th birthday party. Way to go Kelly Suckla, what a nice memory to leave your daughter, you cowardly scumbag! Of course you're dead now Kelly, so there is nothing society can do to you to punish you. Just goes to show you what a lousy deterrent the death penalty is, given how many gun owners end up offing themselves after murdering others.
But let's move on the the 15-year-old kid in Albuquerque who shot and killed 5 people, including 3 children. Authorities described the crime scene as "horrific."
Each victim was shot multiple times, said Lt. Sid Covington of the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department, and one of the weapons used was what he described as an assault rifle.
Wonder where the kid got the gun...
Well, lets move on to the next story where we hear that those gun owners who insist their loaded guns on our streets are helping to keep America safe can't even keep other gun owners safe at gun shows! NBC News reports that "Five people were wounded in accidents at gun shows in North Carolina, Ohio and Indiana on Saturday, according to authorities." Wow! Imagine what these people could do if they were allowed armed in your neighborhood??!!
But I live in a blue state run by elected officials who are smart enough to know the truth, that guns are not big-boy toys. If gun owners at gun shows are shooting each other by accident, who in their right mind would want those same people walking around armed on our streets?
Am I overreacting to isolated incidents? Yes and no. I'm merely adopting the NRA's tactics against them. For 30 years the NRA has taken isolated incidents, distorted the facts and used scare tactics to convince people they needed a gun in their home to protect themselves from the thousands of thugs who are roaming their neighborhoods looking rape, rob, and kill them and their children. Screw them. It's time they get a taste of their own medicine: Thousands of stupid, dangerous strangers are walking around in your neighborhood ARMED and you and your children's lives are in danger!!!

Trakker, you are the only person I know who is fearful of the law-abiding, and wants to protect the lives of car-jackers.
And BTW, its against the law now in New York state to list the names ( and addresses) of gun-owners. I'm sure other will also pass this type of law as well.

Good God, man, you just don't get it do you? The father that shot his wife, and the kid who shot his family were law-abiding citizens and yet they killed. The idiots who shot people nearby at gun shows are also law-abiding even though they don't know how to handle a firearm and yet they still have their firearms. Yeah, I DON"T trust these people around me with a firearm. I don't know why you do.
Also, WTF does this have to do with wanting to protect car-jackers. We have more guns on the streets than any other country in the fking world and yet cars still get car-jacked. How many car-jackings have you stopped??????
Am I to believe that all you gun owners who talk so much about trusting our fellow citizens would willingly hand over your kids to a perfect stranger who offers to take your kids to the park? No. You'd be stupid to do that, and yet you expect ME to trust that same perfect stranger to carry a gun around my kids and grandkids?? Fck off!
